Bass

Bass is a name shared by many different species of popular gamefish. The term encompasses both freshwater and marine species. All belong to the large order Perciformes, or perch-like fishes, and in fact the word bass comes from Middle English bars, meaning " perch ". There are many kinds of bass such as largemouth, smallmouth, rock bass, striped bass, white bass, and striped sea bass. Largemouth bass are a very common game fish they like to hide in weed and eat small sunfish. Smallmouth bass like to eat crayfish and hang out in numbers in rocky areas.
