In this episode of star trek klingons are giving flint locks to a primitive village to try and gain there aliance as they develope. The colony starts pillaging and looting the neighboring hill people.
Kirk and bones go to the hill people to look into there suspitions of the klingon. Along the way Kirk gets attacked by one of the wild predators. Kirk stayed with the hill people previesly and is friends with the village chief whos wife is a healer. Kirk is healed and taken control of by his friends wife who steals his phaser and tries to side with the other colony but is killed instead.
Kirk thinks that maybe he should help his friends by giving them weapons to even out the two sides but he knows his friend would be against it. After his wife dies the village chief asks kirk for guns so he can fight. Kirk calls the enterprise and asks for guns but when he is asked to repeat himself he denies what he said and leaves the planet.
